BIOGRAPHY
Dennis Atkinson Jr. is a Grammy®-nominated composer, orchestrator, and music producer
based in Philadelphia. With a Master of Music in Film Scoring from Berklee College of Music
and a Bachelor of Arts in Orchestration and Electronic Composition from Eastern University,
Dennis blends formal training with authentic creative expression. Over the years, his musical
voice has shaped a wide range of projects—from intimate indie films to large-scale orchestral
works. Whether composing for screen, arranging for ensembles, or producing cinematic
soundscapes, Dennis brings unmatched versatility, depth, and soul to every note.
His work has been heard across platforms including Apple TV, Prime Video, and Tubi,
and performed by ensembles ranging from chamber groups to full symphony orchestras.
Early Beginnings
Dennis started his career as a musician in a neighborhood church more than twenty-five years ago.
Driven by passion and motivated by his fascination and sense of wonderment with the musical
landscape, he continued to develop his craft, keeping his early musical influences close to his heart.
Quincy Jones, Dr. Steven Ford, and Johnny Mandel are some of the composers who influenced his
early talent.
